The term 'People's Theater' has some stories through modern history of Korea. The term 'people' holds certain meanings including independence and resistance against dictatorship and community. Accordingly, People's Theater is created by people who has experienced colonialism, war, division of peninsula, and dictatorship for a long time in modern history of Korea. People's Theater has made original sentiment cut off by colonialization re-live and express the longing for democracy that was choked by dictatorship.

 

 

 

 

People's Theatre expresses various values. The theme itself is expressed not by beautiful sentence but by the life of people. Story of the poor, the handycapped, labors, farmers, etc are told on the stage. Therefore the truthfulness of life of people is expressed in itself.

 

 

 

Inheriting and developing traditional art which had been in danger to disappear caused by intruding foreign cultures. Keeping digging out creative works from the real life with re-creating traditional art in view of modern value.
